Those in the public sector have earned their pay

Hurrah for Gillian Hibberd (HR column, 12 August) – it’s time someone challenged the media’s obsession with public-sector bashing. Working part time in the public sector, and also with private -sector clients, I can state that civil servants work just as hard as their private-sector counterparts and in many cases earn much less than they might in the private sector.
