Why dyslexia is no laughing matter
I refer to your article “One million tiny plays about work” (Wind down, PM, 12 August) and the reference to people with dyslexia. I have discussed this with the British Dyslexia Association, which has commented: “It is still the case within certain parts of society that it is regarded as acceptable to mock those with disabilities. That this is being done in a professional journal appears to us to be an extraordinary lack of judgment. The article will be very offensive to the 1 in 10 of the population affected by dyslexia, a disability explicitly recognised within the Disability Discrimination Act.”
