Building Influence in the Workplace
Getting key people to listen to you, consult you and agree with you is something most of us would like to do better. There’s a lot about this excellent book that will help you.It is based on two undeniable principles: first, relying on hierarchical authority to influence people delivers unsatisfactory results (and doesn’t help you to influence more senior people); and second, influencing people using the reasoning that makes sense to you is unlikely to be as effective as using the reasoning that makes sense to them – after all, that’s the reasoning they will use to decide whether to agree with you or not.
