Easwaran v St George’s University of London
This case provides useful guidance in assessing what constitutes a qualifying disclosure. A belief that is factually wrong may be reasonable in some cases, although in this case it was not. Easwaran, a doctor, claimed he had received detrimental treatment from his employer as a result of making a protected disclosure under the whistle-blowing rules. The basis of this was a dispute he had had with a colleague as to whether the windows should be kept open in the hospital dissecting room where they worked.
