NHS is a blessing for UK – and its HR professionals

I am a US citizen who immigrated to the UK in December 1986 and have worked in senior HR roles in the West Midlands ever since. During this time I have enjoyed and benefited from the country’s national system of healthcare. I think many British people do not appreciate this benefit.I was so pleased to read “An American precedent” in PM (2 September) about Barack Obama’s proposed healthcare bill. Having worked in HR in the States, I support the comment about healthcare coverage being “central to any decent employee benefits package”.
