Pre-Christmas job surge to offset public cuts
Private-sector job creation will more than offset public-sector job cuts in the final quarter of 2010, the CIPD’s autumn Labour Market Outlook (LMO) survey has predicted.
The latest quarterly research, published in partnership with KPMG, identified a likely pre-Christmas jobs surge in the private sector. This will offset the 41 per cent of public-sector employers that are planning to make redundancies, a trend which will affect 14 per cent of their workers before the end of the year.
