Shared services ‘not a panacea’ for cost-savings
Shared services are a valuable tool for making public-sector savings but they “are not the panacea” to budget cuts, delegates at the CIPD’s annual conference were told.
“The public sector faces challenges ahead at a policy and strategy level,” said Dean Shoesmith, joint executive head of HR at the London boroughs of Merton and Sutton - the first shared HR service among the capital’s local authorities.
