McDonald’s promotes David Fairhurst to chief people officer, Europe

McDonald’s Europe has appointed David Fairhurst to the newly created position of chief people officer, Europe. Fairhurst, previously chief people officer for McDonald’s UK and Northern Europe, will begin his new role in January 2011. He will be responsible for leading the strategic development of the organisation’s people practices, including leadership, talent and education programmes, working closely with the management teams in the 39 European countries where McDonald’s operates.
