The dangers of treating temps as ‘employees’
I was surprised to see the sub-head “Will employers need to hatch new ways to employ agency staff?” ( Law at work, 11 November .)The point about using agency staff is that they are not employees. To use “employers” and “employ” is at least misleading and, should the words be used by someone using a temp, could be the foundation for an alleged employment relationship.
