The real pay scandal

Excuse me a moment, but I need to have another blast about the prejudice in so much of the media on the subject of public-sector pay, which the release of Will Hutton’s interim report last week has done little to allay.

The recent austerity measures will inflict some of the most far-reaching, painful cuts the public sector has ever experienced. As a result, we are expecting huge job losses across the sector.
