NHS worker mistakenly paid for two years after leaving post
A former NHS worker who was mistakenly paid a salary long after she left her job has been given a suspended sentence for theft.Yvonne Atkinson of Golcar, Huddersfield, worked as a healthcare support worker for Calderdale Primary Care Trust (now NHS Calderdale) for only seven months before leaving to have a baby in May 2007. She was not entitled to statutory maternity pay so payments for her £14,000-a-year salary ceased when she left the job.
