Get emotionally engaged

I met an inspirational man recently who spoke about employee engagement. His view was not radical in fact it was, for those within this field, what we all believe. He said that “unless you are passionate about what you do you won’t ever achieve your potential”.

Over the course of our conversation, he told me about how he had scuba dived, paraglided and skied and that he was planning to climb Ben Nevis this April and Kilimanjaro in 2012. His own passion was tangible and his achievements numerous. “So what!” I hear you say – great he has done these things but so have so many others and what he says about engagement is hardly new. I agree, except this man has been paralysed from the shoulders down since he was 19.
