Review: The British at Work

The British at Work showed the new policy on product placement in action. The product, Kirsty Young, in this case, was everywhere during this rather bland gallop through postwar manufacturing history. It was a surprise she didn’t pop up in the archive footage waving at us from the crowds. Kirsty was the friendly BBC guide, there to coax along the talking heads and to tut at the foolishness of the way it was back then, however ordinary the anecdotes.
