Wolf review: on course
A government-commissioned report by academic Alison Wolf last month, endorsed by education secretary Michael Gove, has proposed a radical change to vocational education in this country.
Criticising the “perverse incentives” that steer young people into courses of “little value”, Wolf outlined a system that would see funding follow the individual learner and be concentrated on economically valuable occupations, with employers playing a greater role in qualification frameworks.
