Interns could be due workers’ wages
Whether interns should be paid for the work they do has recently had high profile coverage in the national media, following deputy prime minister Nick Clegg’s comments that informal, unpaid internships give an unfair advantage in the labour market to those from wealthier and well-connected backgrounds. Clegg indicated there will be an end to informal internships at Westminster and that those who do obtain internships will be paid.
