Wrong calls

Career Clinic (PM May) prompted me to ask: is disability holding me back?I’ve worked in HR for the past five years and am hearing impaired. I left a company six months ago and have since applied for many jobs. I mention my disability in a covering letter. On my CV I put my mobile number with “text only” beside it. I get numerous calls – which of course I cannot answer – and when I text them back either they don’t reply or can’t understand that – as I state – I communicate orally, but am unable to do so by phone. Any interest in my application stops there.
