AHRI: Wake-up call
In August 2011, a new series of anti-discrimination laws will come into effect. For the many Australian organisations struggling with the issue of employing people with a disability, the reforms will be a serious wake-up call. All government, business, employers and service providers will be obligated to get proactive about creating non-discriminatory workplaces. “This means you have got to take reasonable and proportionate measures to eliminate discrimination,” says Gadens partner, workplace relations, Jane Seymour.
