Alemo-Herron v Parkwood Leisure Ltd

Until recently it was generally thought that public sector employees, who transferred to the private sector, were not entitled post-transfer to pay increases negotiated under industry- or sector-wide bargaining arrangements. Now, however, the Supreme Court has thrown the matter into doubt in a case that will be regarded as bad news by private and third sector service providers in areas such as local government where sector-wide bargaining is in place.
