Patients question pay-by-results for doctors

Patients do not understand why GPs are paid bonuses or how incentives for certain tasks can improve care, a study has revealed.The research into how patients view the pay-by-results scheme for GPs, called the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), found that patients were unclear about how it incentivised doctors to provide better care.
