University unions dismiss improved pay offer
Industrial strife in the higher education sector is set to continue after an improved offer of £150 flat rate pay rise offer was described as “a real-terms pay cut” by unions.The Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) made its slightly improved ‘final offer,’ - up from an earlier £100 flat rate offer for all staff - at the Joint Negotiating Committee for Higher Education Staff (JNCHES) 2011-12 pay talks.
