Met Police boosts numbers in response to violence
The Metropolitan Police Service has responded to what it described as “the worst night in current memory for unacceptable levels of widespread looting, fires and disorder” by boosting the number of officers on the streets.A post on Scotland Yard’s Twitter account said: “In the next 24 hours there will be 13,000 police officers on duty in London.”
