Business welcomes proposed law reforms
Employers and business organisations have broadly welcomed government moves to reduce the period for collective consultation in large-scale redundancies, which were revealed yesterday as part of wider law reforms. Business Secretary Vince Cable is set to decide whether to cut the consultation redundancy period for 100 staff or more from 90 days, down to 60, 45 or even 30 days after announcing a call for evidence on the issue.
