Support for public sector strike limited, CIPD research shows
There is still limited support among UK employees for strike action that disrupts public services, although attitudes towards the unions have softened somewhat in the last 12 months, CIPD research has shown.A week before nationwide strike action by public-sector workers against pension reforms, the CIPD’s Employee Outlook: Focus on Industrial Relations , which surveyed more than 2,000 employees, found that seven in ten (72 per cent) believe that public-sector workers will quickly lose sympathy if they cause disruption to the public.
