Employers not yet convinced by fit note, shows CIPD research
Employers remain unconvinced about the impact the ‘fit note’ can have in cutting absence levels, according to the CIPD’s absence management survey.Just under a third of organisations surveyed said that the fit note, which replaced the ‘sick note’ in April 2010, helps line managers to deal with absence more effectively, even though the majority (87 per cent) have used it.
