Government 'to get tough' on boardroom fat cats

The government could legislate to curb excessive pay for private sector bosses if employers do not take action themselves, deputy prime minister Nick Clegg has said. Clegg revealed that the government would publish new proposals in January 2012 to reduce "unjustified and irresponsible" rewards in an attempt to tackle rocketing boardroom pay and bonuses.
