Met must improve racial diversity, admits Hogan-Howe
Racial diversity among officers in the Metropolitan Police has come under scrutiny as its Commissioner admitted the force is still unrepresentative of the wider community.Following the convictions of two men for murdering black teenager Stephen Lawrence in 1993, Met Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe said the organisation had made progress in recruiting people from BME backgrounds since the Macpherson report into the handling of the murder case.
