"Few people think of air traffic control as a career choice. So the first aim of all NATS recruitment marketing is to raise awareness of careers as an air traffic controller and of NATS as an employer. While nearly everyone is a potential air traffic controller, very few people have the requisite spatial awareness, speed-checking and concentration skills to actually be one. The only way to find out is to get them to apply and then test and assess them. In the last few months NATS have attended the likes of the Biggin Hill Air Show and National Recruitment Fair (Birmingham), with a 21ft branded Airstream. Inside the Airstream we built four terminals, all of which contained games that would challenge audiences of all ages and backgrounds, as well as including a flight simulator. The Airstream and the supporting games were an excellent talking point and it was a fantastic way to build brand presence and ultimately further understanding of the organisation."
