2020 changed our perspectives on many things. This includes the way people and businesses value working routines and overall wellbeing. Now, 2021 brings with it the ability for us to embrace this new way of working.

How are you helping your employees settle into healthy remote working routines? 

Visual technology experts EIZO found 30 per cent of people working from home are concerned about their mental health. As an employer, you can encourage employees to work the same hours as they do in the office to promote work-life balance, as well as providing regular check-ins to help staff that are struggling to adapt. 

Physical health should also be a top priority for employers. Nearly two-thirds (65 per cent) of people have experienced physical pain or injury while working from home, such as back pain and eye strain from suboptimal equipment. To avoid this, companies are encouraged to provide a monitor, keyboard and mouse in order to boost comfort and minimise risk.

Almost half (45 per cent) of people do not have a dedicated workspace. This can start to blur the boundaries between work and personal life, which in turn can have a negative impact on mental health and motivation. Helping workers find ways to separate work and relaxation time, even if that means investing in more equipment, is one of EIZO’s top recommendations for employers.
